About Toot & Hoot Flute Books

The Flute Books are designed especially for young beginners, with the goal of making the first steps on their musical journey joyful, engaging, and inspiring. The method embraces gamification and a wide range of interactive learning techniques — from learning rhythm with LEGO® blocks, rapping, and movement, to singing for intonation, introducing notes step by step, and developing creativity through composition activities, and much more.

Each book offers not only core learning material but also games and activities that make the process of learning music both effective and fun.

 

The cornerstone of this approach is the Toot & Hoot Flute Method Book 1, created especially for early beginners as young as four years old. This book introduces children to the world of the flute, sparking their curiosity and laying a foundation for their musical growth. It includes numerous rhythm, melody, and music reading games, engaging audio materials, and a motivating reward system to keep students inspired.

All illustrations in the books are hand-drawn and feature children of diverse backgrounds, religions, and skin colors, promoting values of inclusion, diversity, and tolerance.

In addition to the main method books, there are supplementary series that can be used alongside the Toot & Hoot Method or any other flute method. The Flute and Narrator Storybooks are charming storybooks for flute beginners, where a narrator — teacher, parent, or friend — reads the story while the student creates sound effects on the flute. These books have become a big hit among students for their creativity and fun.

 

The Music Monsters Book Series is a playful set of activity books introducing young musicians to flute fingers, scales, and melodies, as well as to rhythm, music theory, and the music alphabet.
