The Weather Harmony: A Musical Story for Flute and Narrator
Book 4 of the Flute and Narrator Storybook series

Meet Pippo, the little weather keeper who lives on top of the highest mountain. Every morning, he plays a special song on his flute for each of his Weatherlings (Sun, Rain, Snow, Wind and Rainbow), and they set off to bring the weather to every corner of the world. But one morning, something goes wrong… and without their songs, the Weatherlings get a little out of hand!

In this fourth and final storybook, young flutists play a melody for each Weatherling and discover simple flute extended techniques, such as key clicks, jet whistles and overblowing, as the sounds of rain, snow, wind and thunder. A playful first step into the sounds of contemporary music.

Inside you’ll find:

  • a musical story for narrator and one or more flutes
  • melodies for each Weatherling, using seven notes
  • Flute Effects pages with every sound in both flute notation and picture notation
  • the final song, The Weather Harmony, in both notations
  • a “Create your own weather song” activity
  • QR codes to a video explaining the flute effects and a printable worksheet for creating your own version of the story

Level: for beginners who can already play their first scales, such as G major. A natural next step after Happy Little Ghost Saves the Day.
